A small kitchen with an island temper.
Marleys Island Caribbean Style Food is a family-run takeout and catering spot at 3018 State St in Erie. The cooking is the kind people grew up with: chicken rubbed with jerk spice and grilled over flame, oxtail cooked down until the meat lets go of the bone, rice and peas made with coconut milk, plantain fried until the edges caramelize.
Most of what we serve is either picked up at the counter or carried out to a party. There are no reservations to make and no table to wait on — just tell us when you're coming and we'll have the bag ready.

Marinated, not rushed
Jerk chicken sits overnight in the island spice blend. Oxtail braises until the sauce goes glossy. There's no shortcut that tastes the same, so we don't take it.
Made when you order
No trays under heat lamps. We fire your plate when the ticket prints, which is why we ask for a little patience at busy hours — and a call ahead when you're in a hurry.
Sauce made in-house
The honey jerk sauce, the escovitch pickles and the colada mix are all scratch-made here. The jerk seasoning is imported, because some things should come from where they belong.
